Didi Bjornerud was born in Norway in 1983 and came to London to study design in 2003.
She graduated from Central St Martins in textile design pathway print in 2007 and moved on to work as an intern for Alexander McQueen in London. in 2008 she collaborated with fashion designer Deborah Henning where Didi designed a collection of prints for her ss/09 collection.
Didi has always had a fascination with the image and has sculpted a niche in a variety of different medias and art forms that include photography, painting, graphic- interior and fashion design. She is experimental in the different techniques used, always aspiring to create a fresh and unique look to her work, which has been well received at various exhibitions.
Didi draws much of her inspiration from nature in her origin of Norway, particularly in the graphics used. Her work also emanates a subtle darkness that lingers beneath the surface, in the dark colours and abstract arrangements. Her designs are complex, often worked on as collages of layers, using a mix of the many techniques and forms she is educated in.
