Now 32 years old, from an early age interested in fashion and beauty, his roots in Indonesia, where he has worked for the local editions of Harper’s Bazaar and Cosmopolitan magazine and where he took care of the make-up for the performances of the famous singer Ruth Sahanaya. First studied to become a fashion designer, later as autodidact he learned make-up, inspired by Kevyn Aucoin.

Only five years in The Netherlands and he has already an impressive list of clients. Palapa is always abreast of the latest trends, but gets inspiration just as easily from other cultures or times past, from classic or romantic to extravagant. Maybe his creativity catches the eye, but Palapa is above all professional, with good planning and timely preparation as well as in the ultimate result. He can accomplish perfect make-up and hairstyling even if, pressed by time, he needs to work fast. He works well alone, but also clearly demonstrates his talent in a team or as the head of a group of make-up artists.
