URBAN AFFAIRS: Streetart and Urban Art Exhibition in Berlin.

The art festival URBAN AFFAIRS is pleased to announce a large-scale exhibition featuring current positions of Contemporary Urban Art and Street Art from July 5th to August 3rd in Berlin- the global epicenter of this international art movement. Forty-five artists from ten countries, all major players in the Urban Art genre, have been invited for a three-day residency at the Galerie Friedrichshoehe, a new cultural center in Berlin-Friedrichshain. Located in a post-industrial building, this 900 sq. meter exhibition space is the ideal location for the largest and most comprehensive Urban Art exhibition in Germany to date.

DUE TO POPULAR DEMAND THE STREET ART AND URBAN ART EXHIBITION URBAN AFFAIRS WILL BE EXTENDED UNTIL AUGUST 25TH. IN ADDITION, URBAN AFFAIRS WILL CELEBRATE ITS SUCCESS WITH A RE-OPENING PARTY ON AUGUST 2ND. After the success this year's most comprehensive Street Art and Urban Contemporary Art exhibition in Germany, URBAN AFFIARS will be extended. Now on view until August 25th, the exhibition also invites viewers to additional innovative events related to the theme of urban life in art. More than 5,000 urban art enthusiasts have already visited the exhibition and lectures by New York's Leon Reid, aka Darius Jones, as well as the City Walk and Open Art Space Project have continued to develop and communicate the exhibition's core concerns. For the next three weeks, the exhibition's motto remains: Every day something new. In keeping with this motto, this coming Saturday (August 2, 2008), URBAN AFFAIRS will throw a re-opening party at Friedrichshoehe, a converted brewery at Landsbergerallee 54 that boasts 1,000 sq meters. Come celebrate with art, drinks and fresh beats courtesy Radio Electrofunker, Berlin's first open internet radio. Taking place concurrently with URBAN AFFAIRS' third City Walk, happening this time in Kreuzberg, numerous street art activists will be present at the Landsberger Allee venue, adding even more to the URBAN AFFAIRS exhibition itself. Where wild street art creations have bloomed during the past weeks, and in light of the URBAN AFFAIRS' re-opening party, an entire façade of the building will now be taken over. Whoever wants watch the process live, or participate themselves in actions by Eltono or Massmix, should show up at the venue on Saturday at 3pm. The walk begins at 3pm at Künstlerhaus Bethanien in Kreuzberg. The party kicks off at 7pm in the main URBAN AFFAIRS exhibition space.
