Success Stories is a blog series where we talk to artists on Dripbook about their recent successful projects, providing industry insights from top creative professionals.

Continuing with this series, we hear from Mia Tucker Williams, a New York City-based fashion stylist. Read below to see what she had to say about this project:

"I collaborated with Jill on a previous shoot and we discussed shooting together again. After discussing a few ideas we came up with the idea of a girl who was wandering aimlessly but impeccably dressed. We wanted a girl who had something unusual about her that made her even more beautiful. She had to be able to pull off interesting poses that were almost creature like. When we saw Katuisha, we were immediately drawn to the size of her eyes, and during the casting she just had this intense gaze. We knew she was right for this."

"I knew I wanted to shoot a lot of metallics and fancy gowns for this story, and Jill had scouted out a few different locations. After I sent her images of the pull she felt shooting at several churches in Manhattan with amazing architecture would look really good with the clothing."

"On shoot day it was a little hectic navigating traffic to each location. We had so many shots planned and I was nervous we wouldn’t get them all in. Luckily the weather was perfect and Katiusha didn’t need much direction so we ended up shooting 10 looks in just a few hours. A few of the designers that were featured were Sass and Bide, Georgine, Azeeza, Rupert Sanderson, and Idan Cohen. Overall I think the story came out great and Katiusha looked amazing!"

Great work Mia!
