About Charlie Taylor:

Charlie Taylor was born in England into an eccentric family whose first home was a 1949 Leyland Tiger coach. At the age of fifteen Charlie first went to get her hair cut and colored at the Vidal Sassoon Academy. Inspired by the international energy and fashion of the London academy Charlie went on to attempt to recreate these looks at home in the suburbs. Her school teachers lamented that she should concentrate more on her school work than her hair.

Her interest later shifted to travel and she moved to Northern California, where she lived riverside in the Napa Valley and drove a vintage flatbed Chevrolet truck. Taking classes at the Academy of Art in San Francisco, she realized that she could actually have a proper career and concentrate on hair all the time. Realizing a teenage dream Charlie moved to Los Angeles to attend the Vidal Sassoon Academy.

Charlie was introduced to Yannick D'Is in Los Angeles, and she moved to New York to work as his first assistant, working alongside Yannick on hair campaigns for Pantene and Garnier. Traveling to Paris she worked on the teams of Luigi Murenu and Guido Palau for designers YSL, Lanvin, Mui Mui, & Alexander McQueen, to name a few. In 2009 Charlie was introduced to her mentor Didier Malige, whom she credits with her education in the business of the fashion industry and editorial hairdressing.

With 10 years of experience in hairdressing Taylor is becoming an established name within the fashion industry with an impressive client list, working for such publications as Harpers Bazaar Mexico, Elle US , Elle Mexico, Chinese Vogue, British Vogue, W Magazine & Wonderland.

She has also become a firm favorite with celebrities and royalty, and has worked with stars such as Natalie Portman, Carey Mulligan, Christina Ricci, Elle Macpherson, Kathleen Turner, Paul Dano & Princess Elisabeth von Thurn und Taxis.

She lives in Manhattan, and when not at NYU can be found tinkering with her beloved 1969 Triumph Bonneville.
