A recent Gawker Artist Collective inductee (1), Courtney Sanello is now part of the elite painters representing one of today's top 5 Art Blogs. Entirely a self-taught Artist, New Yorker Courtney Sanello graduated from the Goizueta Business School at Emory University, with a double major in Marketing and Organization & Management.

The source driving all work starts with channelling a focused, singular emotional tension.
Primary aim is to produce both a sense of awkwardness in the viewer as well as in the painting’s composition.
In sum, all compositions try to create a strangely-familiar off-kilter reality, where perhaps the subject's hands are too large, or is bound for imminent doom.

Her New York City solo debut Exhibition, “Everything. Amazing. Nobody. Happy.”, sponsored by Non-Profit Organization, Salon Ciel (2), was on June 7th, 2010. You can also find Courtney’s published work on two covers of The International Journal of Reading Education, Mannequin, Hybrid Vigor, and Alloy.
