Eryn Lefkowitz is a fine artist living and working in New York City. She graduated with a BFA from the School of Visual Arts in 2010, and draws on her background in multidisciplinary fine art to create her colorful – and controversial – large-scale photographs. She cites the beauty and chaos of New York City as the ammunition for her pieces, which challenge the viewer not to find beauty in the grotesque, but the grotesque in the beautiful. Like Cindy Sherman and Marilyn Minter, Lefkowitz is both fascinated and repulsed by indulgence – especially as it relates to fashion, violence and sexuality.
