Fiona's Inspiration for her Fashion Illustrations :
Fashion is a reflection of what is going on within contemporary culture, with music, rock’n’roll, film, technology, visual arts, architecture, photography, and street cultures all feeding off each other. Fashion is as definitive of a certain period in time and as important as art! Its a chameleon, fleeting, always changing and forever elusive. You enter into another realm, a realm of fantasy and theatre. Fashion gives youth a form of expression, the ability to rebel, to stand out in the crowd or be accepted into a selective group. I try to create strong, capable and extremely feminine woman. It all tells a story – the hair, the makeup, the clothes!
Inspiration for her paintings:
I love what makes people tick, behind a portrait there is always a story. Everyone has a story to tell...some more than others.
Fiona continues to work as an Artist and Fashion Illustrator and is currently working on a series of portrait paintings and illustrations for an exhibition in NY in 2010.
