Gabriela Herman hails from Newton, Massachusetts, but has spent her twenty-seven years in a variety of zip codes from France to Mexico to Brazil. Growing up with dual American/Brazilian citizenship and Portuguese spoken at home, she decided it was only logical to study abroad in Brazil for a semester in college (Wesleyan University). That semester turned into a year which then turned into five. While living in Brazil she had the opportunity to work for several acclaimed photographers. She is now currently freelancing in New York City.
