Irem Harnak is a visual artist born and raised in Istanbul. She lived and studied in London, UK. Passionate about art, cultures and languages, she spent some time in Europe, mainly France, Italy, Spain and Belgium. She is currently in New York.
Her editorial work has been in publications such as Marie Claire China, Excelente,
, ADON, Superior, Boys by Girls, Flare, Fashion, Elegant, Design Scene, Fantastics, OkOkay, Fiasco Magazine.
She is a fashion and portrait photographer interested in creating narratives through her own visual language. She has been developing a personal project called “Made This Way” seeking to explore what it means to be transgender individual from an authentic, human-to-human perspective. Currently she is working on her first VR project, which is the second leg of “Made This Way’.
“Made This Way” has been exhibited at Nuit Rose Festival during Pride 2017 in Toronto, Canada.
Irem has lensed two indie feature films and one VR short film called “I am You”.
She is a Merit Winner of The Look 2010, International Fashion Photograpy Competition presented by PDN.
