Judy Reed Silver's style focuses on an eclectic collage of illustration, design, photography, vintage and modern. She has been inspired by nature, geometric patterns, vintage fabrics and silk Japanese kimonos, how they can be applied to surface design and how art as design can apply to our everyday living environment. She has licensed her designs for rugs, wallpapers, fabrics, stationary, shoes, T-shirts, tableware, children's/infant bedding, gift bags, product packaging and wall décor.
Besides licensing her designs, Judy has illustrated for Sherwin-Williams, Disney Consumer Products, U.S.P.S., Emory University, Publix, Bernina U.S.A., Emory Medicine, The Natural History Museum of Los Angeles, Infonet, Bon Appetit Management, U.C.L.A., Jamba Juice, Mimio Papers, Papyrus, Chick-fil-A, Sunkist, Marriott, Four Seasons Hotels, Health Net, Food Marketing Institute and Naturemade/Pharmavite.
Judy has illustrated children's books for Simon & Schuster/Silver Burdett & Ginn, cookbooks for Chronicle Books and Rodale Press, and the textbook , "Con Fantasia." Her editorial-conceptual work has been featured in Newsweek, Boston Globe, Utne Reader, Rodale Preventions, Los Angeles Magazine and The New England Journal of Medicine.
Her work has exhibited in several one woman shows and national group shows of mono-types, giclee prints and illustrations through private galleries and universities/colleges. She has also been featured in Communication Arts Annual, The Society of Publication Designers Best Spot Illustrations & Brochures, Visions Magazine, How's Promotional Design Annual, Stir Magazine, and Taxi Design.
Judy received her BFA from Art Center College of Design in Pasadena and resides with her husband Marc, (also an Art Center alumni in photography) in the coastal hills above Malibu/Los Angeles, California.
