Katharine Polk’s fresh fashion vision is expressed in her striking stylist work for top magazines, her stunning designs for Houghton (houghtonnyc.com) where she serves as creative director and in the distinctive content she creates for FIASCO Magazine in her role New York Fashion Editor. Polk oversees and styles her monthly feature in Fiasco, "Style Mode", a fashion feature shot as an editorial which features and showcases trends from each season. Katharine has Styled for or been featured in as a Style Expert; New York times, French GQ, 944, Fiasco Magazine (3 covers), and ElleGirl to name a few.
During the 2012 Fall/Winter Fashion Week at New York’s Lincoln Center, Polk debuted her first RTW collection as the head designer for HOUGHTON. Drawing inspiration from Katharine Hepburn, Bianca Jagger and Patti Smith, Polk designs for the independent woman who desires a look that is effortlessly chic yet sexy and strong. Her debut show was very well received by the top publications and fashion blogs including WWD who named Katharine for Houghton a “New Designer to Watch”, BULLETT, Time, ElleGirl, Glamour and Style Sight. The collection has been sold internationally.
Polk also dedicates her time and passion to her role as an U.S. spokesperson for the international non-profit organization, Designers Against Aids. She lives in New York City with Jonesy - her supermodel English Bulldog.
