I employ through a variety of stages and mediums, themes that focus on sexual identity, confinement, the institution, and restraint. I manipulate materials, beyond their traditional function to portray characteristics, which are analogous to human features, documenting stress and time. It is my intention to instill an empathetic response relating to solitude, misery, and desperation. Currently my works, employ the cloak and head covering, which is in reference to my childhood memories of attending parochial school and time spent with my maternal grandmother, Sister Vessels.
The art work has been exhibited in both New York and Berlin. The collections have been sold in the U.S. and Japan. The work has been featured in FAULT Magazine, Adam and Eve, CITY Magazine, Italian Vogue, The Fader Magazine, Fugue Magazine, Variety, Surface Magazine, Nylon Magazine, amongst others.
I am currently working out of my studio in Brooklyn.
