Jodi is a successful fashion photographer and creative director who has spent over 20 seasons down in the trenches shooting the runways for New York City’s Fashion Week, invited by the world’s most recognized designers including Oscar de la Renta, Betsey Johnson, and Anna Sui to shoot their collections. Her photographs have appeared in Time, Newsweek, Vogue, Vanity Fair, Cosmopolitan, People, and countless others. Jodi works in various forms of multimedia; from complex fashion shoots producing both still image campaigns to creative short fashion films and videos. Jodi creates compelling imagery and concepts for fashion magazines, advertising campaigns, art installations, runway shows & presentations, fashion designer lookbooks, beauty campaigns and fashion accessory companies…. working on both small and large scale budgeted productions.
Jodi started shooting before the digital age. Even though now her relationship with Hasselblad digital format inspires her creatively, spending hours on her mac painting onto her images, her favorite camera of choice is still a 1968 Hasselblad medium format film camera handed to her from Chuck Boa, Richard Avedon's art director... "The torch has been passed on."
There is a great demand for technical training that goes beyond the traditional 100k four year university route. The complexity and growing art form of modern photography has created an unquenched thirst for knowledge of the digital arts; from shooting for personal expression, to acquiring skills in high end work and postproduction, and finally to creating a sustainable career in the arts.
For many enthusiasts in today's modern age, they do not want to spend the four years to feel they have a fundamental understanding of their craft. For this reason, many students have come to me with the need to learn from an already successful mentor in their aspiring field. This approach promises a rich experience of hands on training and unparalleled opportunity to accelerate their skills. I will teach you to think of yourself as an artist and to inspire your senses in new ways.
In my exclusive master classes I will offer:
-new photographic techniques
-a place to come together where inspirational new ideas flow
-an opportunity to work alongside a team of already accomplished professionals in the fashion industry
-a deeper understanding of the subconscious process to creating images
-a more soulful connection to the art form
-as well as the chance for some: travel, adventure, and even career mentoring.
I offer several workshops that fulfill these goals at a variety of different price points and locations.
