I am a plodder. I love to work and re-work a painting: scraping, cutting, layering, heaving loaded brushes against the paintings surface, creating splatters and drips and then I work and re-work some more. I always work on multiple pieces at once. Most of the paintings are cut apart, a slice removed from one and added to another. Canvases are rotated and combined to make new compositions. Chance is employed. Materials are chosen for their unique contributions, and through all this plodding and struggle comes meaning.
