Ty Mecham is a New York based fashion, commercial portrait, still life and interiors photographer. On his second day in New York, Ty knew he had to move to the city permanently. He spent much of his childhood in California and imagined heading there after receiving a BFA in Photography, but now considers NYC his home.

Ty's artistic abilities started early. As a child, an art teacher encouraged him to develop his creative eye and Ty won awards for his drawings and etchings. He also enjoyed taking pictures with various small cameras and his dad's SLR and received photography awards in high school and college.

In New York Ty has worked as a photo assistant, prop /set assistant, digital technician and as a free lance photographer. Ty has worked on many shoots for Michael Thompson, Rodney Smith and Roland Bello. He has had the privilege to work on set with Annie Leibovitz, Patrick Demarchelier, Karl Lagerfeld, Rodney Smith, Gisele, and a variety of celebrities. He has assisted on shoots for W magazine, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Harper's Bazaar, L'Uomo Vogue, Elle, GQ, Elegant Bride, Martha Stewart Living, Blueprint, Gourmet Magazine, Real Simple, Bergdorf Goodman, Bloomingdales, Coach, Target, the Gap, and more.
